Morden Park House 90's Outdoor Cinema

Morden Park House outdoor cinema takes you back to the 1990’s with a selection of classic films from family favourites, to cult masterpieces. The courtyard of Morden Park House will be transformed to a pop up outdoor cinema complete with licensed bar and classic cinema food.

Please not there is no seating at this venue, you are welcome to bring your own camp chairs, blankets, cushions etc. You are also welcome to bring your own picnics but please no alcohol or drinks in glass bottles. Alcohol will be on sale from the bar.

11.00am Jumanji

Our first screening is Jumanji (1995), A magical board game unleashes a world of adventure on siblings Peter (Bradley Pierce) and Judy Shepherd (Kirsten Dunst). While exploring an old mansion, the youngsters find a curious, jungle-themed game called Jumanji in the attic. When they start playing, they free Alan Parrish (Robin Williams), who's been stuck in the game's inner world for decades. If they win Jumanji, the kids can free Alan for good -- but that means braving giant bugs, ill-mannered monkeys and even stampeding rhinos!

The 90's classic teen rom com, Clueless is our second screening, based on Jane Austens' Emma. Shallow, rich and socially successful Cher (Alicia Silverstone) is at the top of her Beverly Hills high school's pecking scale. Seeing herself as a matchmaker, Cher first coaxes two teachers into dating each other. Emboldened by her success, she decides to give hopelessly klutzy new student Tai (Brittany Murphy) a makeover. When Tai becomes more popular than she is, Cher realizes that her disapproving ex-stepbrother (Paul Rudd) was right about how misguided she was -- and falls for him.

3.00pm Romeo and Juliet

Our 90's cinema continues with Baz Luhrmann's adaptation of Shakespeares romantic tragedy Romeo and Juliet, updating the setting to a post-modern city named Verona Beach. In this version, the Capulets and the Montagues are two rival gangs. Juliet (Claire Danes) is attending a costume ball thrown by her parents. Her father Fulgencio Capulet (Paul Sorvino) has arranged her marriage to the boorish Paris (Paul Rudd) as part of a strategic investment plan. Romeo attends the masked ball and he and Juliet fall in love.

Join us to watch Julia Roberts and RIchard Gere in the romantic classic Pretty Woman. In this modern update on Cinderella, a prostitute and a wealthy businessman fall hard for one another, forming an unlikely pair. While on a business trip in L.A., Edward (Richard Gere), who makes a living buying and breaking up companies, picks up, Vivian (Julia Roberts), on a lark. After Edward hires Vivian to stay with him for the weekend, the two get closer, only to discover there are significant hurdles to overcome as they try to bridge the gap between their very different worlds.

8.00pm Pulp Fiction

Our 90's cinema day culminates with the Quentin Tarantino cult classic Pulp Fiction! Vincent Vega (John Travolta) and Jules Winnfield (Samuel L. Jackson) are hitmen with a penchant for philosophical discussions. In this ultra-hip, multi-strand crime movie, their storyline is interwoven with those of their boss, gangster Marsellus Wallace (Ving Rhames) ; his actress wife, Mia (Uma Thurman) ; struggling boxer Butch Coolidge (Bruce Willis) ; master fixer Winston Wolfe (Harvey Keitel) and a nervous pair of armed robbers, "Pumpkin" (Tim Roth) and "Honey Bunny" (Amanda Plummer).

Film starts at 8pm, doors open at 7.30pm
